Socheata Siv

Role at Vet HQ: Customer service representative

Socheata discovered her love for animals later than most. What started as joining a friend on casual dog walks quickly revealed a natural gift she never knew she had. Despite once being told she “Wasn’t an animal person,” Socheata proved that sometimes the best paths are the ones we don’t expect, and she’s grateful every day that she trusted her instincts.

At Vet HQ Double Bay, Socheata is the friendly face welcoming clients and their pets while keeping the clinic running smoothly. Drawing on her experience as a dog walker, she brings genuine warmth to every interaction, bonding with the animals, making people laugh, and ensuring everyone has what they need (including snacks!). She has a growing interest in dog behaviour, with a future goal of completing her vet nursing qualifications and has a special soft spot for puppies and senior patients.

Her colleagues would describe her as having “15 personalities,” all of them delightful. What she appreciates most about Vet HQ? “Big team, big dream. We operate from the heart.” One favourite memory captures this perfectly: taking Geoff’s dog Troopy for a beach sleepover, only to have him try to follow her home instead of Geoff a few days later. “He was torn but went with Geoff eventually. I thought that was pretty funny and sweet.”

Outside the clinic, this self-described “mermaid Pocahontas surfer girl” loves surfing and being in the ocean. She recently quit coffee in favour of a soy sticky chai and dreams of one day having a Leonberger.

We have been bringing our pets to Vet Hq in Darlinghurst for almost a decade because, simply, they are the best! Dr Jess Green treats all her patients with thoroughness, compassion and true care. The entire nursing team are also spectacular and we will not be taking our pets anywhere else as long as Vet Hq is around.

Best Vet Clinic! Oh My Gosh, I owe these guys everything, if it wasn’t for this clinic, I wouldn’t have my WylieCat anymore.
My cat fell out a window, 6 storeys down to concrete, & although he didn’t break bones, he broke his insides, especially his liver. The dedication of care…

FAQs for our Vet HQ family

How do I know which Vet HQ clinic to visit - Darlinghurst or Double Bay?

Both clinics offer the same standard of care, shared medical records and a collaborative team. Many clients choose the location closest to home, while others visit a specific vet they love. If you are unsure, our team can guide you to the clinic that best suits your pet’s needs.

Can Vet HQ help if my pet needs urgent attention?

Yes. We can often see urgent cases on the same day at either our Darlinghurst or Double Bay clinic. If the situation is critical, call us right away and our team will advise the safest next step and prepare for your arrival.

What makes Vet HQ different from other vets in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs?

We combine warm, relationship-based care with advanced diagnostics, gold-standard cat facilities and a Fear Free approach. Many of our vets and nurses have been with us for years, providing genuine continuity and a familiar, trusted team for your pet.

Do you look after pets from outside Darlinghurst and Double Bay?

Absolutely. Many families travel to us from Surry Hills, Paddington, Bondi, Woollahra and across the Eastern Suburbs because they value consistent care and our wide range of services under one roof.

What should I expect during my pet’s first visit to Vet HQ?

You’ll meet a friendly team who takes time to listen, understand your concerns and get to know your pet’s personality. We explain everything clearly, discuss options and create a plan that suits your pet’s health and your family’s routine.

How do I book an appointment with Vet HQ, and what information should I have ready?

You can book online or call our Darlinghurst or Double Bay clinic. It helps to have your pet’s name, species, age, any current medications, and a brief summary of what you’ve noticed. If you have recent test results or notes from another vet, bring them along so we can get up to speed quickly.
