Puppy Training That Grows with Your Dog

Good habits start forming the moment your puppy bounds through your front door, and our program gives you the tools to guide them from day one. Delivered by Libby from Sound Hound, with early guidance on toilet training, building independence, gradual exposure and confidence development, we help you prevent behavioural problems before they take root.

From your first personalised Zoom consultation to outdoor group classes in the park, Libby and the Sound Hound team’s approach is practical, positive and based on how puppies learn.

Real-World Skills Taught in Safe, Fun Environments

Our outdoor classes at Steyne Park give puppies the chance to practise essential skills where they’ll use them – around other dogs, near people, with everyday distractions swirling around. We focus hard on recall, loose-leash walking and rock-solid manners, teaching confidence without overwhelming young dogs still figuring out the world.

Every puppy progresses at their own pace, and every owner leaves each session feeling capable, supported and prepared.

We have been bringing our pets to Vet Hq in Darlinghurst for almost a decade because, simply, they are the best! Dr Jess Green treats all her patients with thoroughness, compassion and true care. The entire nursing team are also spectacular and we will not be taking our pets anywhere else as long as Vet Hq is around.

The team at Vet HQ Darlinghurst are amazing! Everyone is so friendly and caring, and they really take the time to make sure your pet feels comfortable. The vets explain things clearly and you can tell they truly love animals. The clinic is clean and welcoming, and I always feel my pet is in the best hands.

Best Vet Clinic! Oh My Gosh, I owe these guys everything, if it wasn’t for this clinic, I wouldn’t have my WylieCat anymore.
My cat fell out a window, 6 storeys down to concrete, & although he didn’t break bones, he broke his insides, especially his liver. The dedication of care…

I so appreciate a doctor taking the time to educate me as an owner; there’s no better feeling than being an informed decision maker and owner. Our golden retriever, Leo, had the best care…

FAQs for our Vet HQ family

Where are your puppy training classes held?

Our outdoor group classes are held at Steyne Park in Double Bay, with early Zoom sessions available for all Sydney clients, regardless of their location.

At what age should I start training my puppy?

Immediately. Early learning between 8–16 weeks lays the foundation for lifelong good behaviour; waiting only makes things more complicated.

Do you help with toilet training and puppy biting?

Yes. These common challenges are thoroughly covered during your first one-on-one session, along with practical strategies you can implement immediately.

Can puppies attend before their vaccinations are finished?

Yes. Early Zoom support begins from day one, and outdoor classes start just one week after your puppy’s second vaccination.

Do you run training for adolescent dogs, too?

Yes. We offer ongoing classes for puppy school graduates and private training clients working through teenage behaviour challenges.

Can nervous or shy puppies still attend?

Absolutely. We progress socialisation carefully and thoughtfully to build genuine confidence, rather than creating more fear.
