Grooming and Pet Care

At Vet HQ, we bring together grooming, boarding, training and rehabilitation under one roof – all delivered with the gentle, thoughtful approach your companion deserves.Whether it’s a fresh clip, a cosy holiday stay, confidence-building puppy classes or post-surgery support, our experienced team treats every pet like family. From nervous first-timers to seasoned visitors, we make every experience calm, positive and tailored to your pet’s unique needs.

Pet Grooming

At Vet HQ, we treat grooming like the meaningful experience it is. It’s gentle and mindful, where your pet’s sense of safety matters every bit as much as their shiny coat. Our groomers are thorough and patient, particularly for pets who find the whole situation deeply suspicious.

Whether your dog needs a summer clip, your cat has knots that need untangling, or skin allergies call for a medicated bath, we ensure every pet feels safe, settled, and cared for throughout their visit.

Cat Boarding

Cat boarding at Vet HQ is a well thought out, purpose-built retreat where your cat can settle into a comfortable routine while you’re away. Think soft hiding spots, elevated perches, and calm surroundings designed specifically for felines who value their peace.

Everything here runs at cat-speed – predictable, gentle, and blissfully dog-free.

Puppy Training

Good habits start forming the moment your puppy bounds through your front door, and our program gives you the tools to guide them from day one. Delivered by Libby from Sound Hound, our puppy training includes early guidance on toilet training, building independence, gradual exposure and confidence development, helping you prevent behavioural problems before they take root.

From your first personalised Zoom consultation to outdoor group classes in the park, Libby and the Sound Hound team take a practical, positive approach based on how puppies learn.

FAQs for our Vet HQ family

What in-house diagnostic equipment do you have at Vet HQ?

Both clinics are equipped with advanced imaging, ultrasound, X-ray, and in-house blood testing facilities, as well as support for extended, detailed medical workups. This enables faster responses and more informed treatment decisions.

Do you have separate areas for cats and dogs?

Yes. Both clinics have feline-only wards and dedicated spaces to reduce stress for cats. Double Bay features a purpose-built cat hospital, while Darlinghurst offers a separate cat waiting room and cat-specific treatment areas.

Is parking available at your clinics?

Yes. Both clinics offer convenient and easy parking nearby. Double Bay also offers four dedicated parking spaces at the rear of the clinic, which is especially valuable during busy periods.

Can most pet procedures be done on-site?

Yes. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care under one roof. Most diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries are handled in-house. When external specialist input is needed, we bring them in or collaborate remotely so your pet stays with the team who knows them best.

What happens if my pet needs overnight monitoring?

If your pet is stable and comfortable, they may be able to remain in our hospital for planned checks. Pets that require constant overnight monitoring are referred to a nearby emergency centre, and we assist with arranging safe transportation.

Are your vet clinics purpose-built?

Yes. Darlinghurst is a newer, purpose-built clinic with separate cat and dog zones. Double Bay features a purpose-built cat hospital and is undergoing upgrades as part of Vet HQ’s commitment to evolving with the needs of clients and pets.

We have been bringing our pets to Vet Hq in Darlinghurst for almost a decade because, simply, they are the best! Dr Jess Green treats all her patients with thoroughness, compassion and true care. The entire nursing team are also spectacular and we will not be taking our pets anywhere else as long as Vet Hq is around.

Best Vet Clinic! Oh My Gosh, I owe these guys everything, if it wasn’t for this clinic, I wouldn’t have my WylieCat anymore.
My cat fell out a window, 6 storeys down to concrete, & although he didn’t break bones, he broke his insides, especially his liver. The dedication of care…
