Recently on Social Media outlets there has been a lot of Bravecto Bashing! Bravecto is an oral quarterly chew that controls fleas and ticks in dogs. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion I would like to point out that there is no evidence to suggest that these personal stories are true and in the research conducted by the drug company and external third parties the drug has been deemed incredibly safe.
We have used the drug for over a year now and have seen amazing results in the prevention of fleas, ticks and other external parasites. We recommend Bravecto for all dogs. In personal communication with colleagues on the Norther Beaches of Sydney, those areas that have taken up Bravecto have seen a significant reduction in cases of Tick Paralysis and I can definitely show you the evidence that Paralysis Ticks can kill dogs in 72 hours.
In summary:
1. Be careful what you read on Google
2. The scientific evidence does not support claims that you see on Social Media
3. Our recommendation is it is safe and highly effective.
Please call and discuss this with myself or one of my vets in you have any further questions.
For a bit of fun, I thought I would add some social media headlines indicating that Panadol also kills. Be careful next time you have that headache.
